形態特徵

  • Herbs; stems diffuse or decumbent, densely hirsute.
  • Leaves nearly sessile, succulent, ovate or suborbicular or oblong-lanceolate, 10–16 mm long, 8–10 mm wide, apex obtuse, base rounded or broadly cuneate, margins entire, both surfaces densely hirsute.
  • Spikes to 4 cm long, pedunculate; bracts broadly lanceolate, 4.2–5 mm long, 1.5–2 mm wide, obtuse at tip, margins scarcely hyaline, long ciliate, densely hirsute on back; bracteoles lanceolate; calyx segments linear-lanceolate; corolla violet, 7–9 mm long, 4–5 mm wide, puberulent outside, limb bilabiate, upper lip erect, triangular, lower lip obovate; filaments rarely ciliate; style ca. 5 mm long, ciliate near base.
  • Capsule slightly pubescent at tip.
  • This variety has been erroneously recognized as <i>Justicia hayatai</i> Yamamoto var. <i>ciliata</i> Yamamoto, and was raised to the rank of species <i>Justicia ciliata</i> by Hsieh & Huang, Taiwania 19: 21. 1974, and in Fl. Taiwan 4: 645. 1978.
